Rochford intends to unseat Kathy Castor

TAMPA, FL, November 08, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Robert “Rocky” Rochford, a retired Navy Captain/Commodore, officially announced his campaign for US House of Representatives, Florida Congressional District 14 as a Republican. Captain Rochford held his kick-off event at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City on November 2nd, 2023.

Rocky has more than three decades of military experience, beginning in 1985 at graduation from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Several excerpts from Rochford’s speech at his kick-off. “I am a conservative and throughout my career, I approach issues with a pragmatic lens. I pride myself on my problem solving and negotiating skills. In the Navy I provided leadership, and gained valuable experience being stationed across the globe.”

“We need leaders that are not afraid to confront the far left and carry the voices of our constituents to the Capital and fight for change. I’m that leader!”

“Veterans are living on the streets, addicted to drugs, have mental health problems, and are unable to find the light. I am dedicated to funding VA programs and supporting churches and ministries that help veterans with a hand up. But Veterans are not the only ones who are living on the streets. There are an estimated 4 to 5 thousand men, women, and children, whole families living on the streets right here in Tampa Bay. We as a society have failed if we can’t help those in most need!”

“How many more freedoms will you allow them to take from you before you will stand up. They have been slowly and systematically growing the size of the US government and taking our rights, our liberties, and our freedoms. If you are not going to stand up now, then when? How long will you wait before you stand with me and we fight back. We need to bring God back into our lives. We need God in our schools, our courthouses, and our government. I’m Rocky and I’m running for congress for We the People!” Rochford concluded to roaring applause.

Rochford’s current endorsements include: Former State Representative Jackie Toledo; State Representative Karen Pittman; Initiative for Change; Hispanics Against Socialism; Fighters Against Socialism; Victims of Communism; Journalist Jaime Arellano – Political Prisoner and the Reverand Ernie Rivera.
