Windows is an operating system developed by Microsoft. It is written in C, C++ and also assembly language. There are many versions of windows like windows vista, windows 7, windows 8 and 8.1 and the latest version is windows 10. Microsoft says that windows10 is the last number based version of windows.
There is a question that why Microsoft skipped the number 9?
Because they wanted to introduce a more updated and efficient OS, hence named it 10 to show the efficiency of their OS than the previous versions.
Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system. It combines the strength of both windows 7 and windows 8. It is also available for phones (windows 10 mobile). This is Microsoft’s best ever operating system for gamming, there are big changes to PC gaming with this it and millions of people are enjoying this innovative OS. For popularity Microsoft decided to provide a free update of windows 10 to users having windows two most recent versions in its first year. It is easy to use the social sites such as face book, twitter on this OS. It has very eye catching interface and features. It can operate two browsers, internet explorer and Spartan. It requires 1 GHz processor, 1 or 2 GB RAM, 16 GB hard disk space and a Microsoft account.
Microsoft says, This OS is not for all of us, in fact for each of us.
Windows 10 has eight editions. Windows 10 home, pro, enterprise, LTSB, education, mobile and mobile enterprise. It has two versions Windows 10 Technical Preview and Windows 10 Technical Preview for Enterprise.
Windows 8 did not got popularity and Microsoft understands that it’s a disaster. Microsoft then introduces another OS to prove them as best ones. Windows 10 was designed so simply, it has no complicated feature so it may work on small screens also. Its features are universal apps, Crotona, virtual desktops, metro apps, snap, unified control panel, easy shut down etc. It also provides multi desktops for multitasking. It has improved multitasking. Microsoft added an Xbox in it through which user can see what his friend is doing or he may send messages. It is more secure than other versions of windows, it allows you to login with a password or face recognition through devices that support camera. It also supports biometric authentication.
There are few drawbacks or problems in this OS. As it is a business OS so one should know is it secure? Unfortunately the answer is NO. Microsoft isn’t working on this issue. Moreover, the start menu cannot hold more than 512 items, app store may crash many times while downloading apps, it uses bandwidth without telling, touch friendly features are removed from it and users are feeling difficulty in touch control of this OS. If a user of windows 10 wants to move back to his previous OS, it won’t be easy the previous OS is to be reinstalled from the disk.
Windows 10 is an amazing operating system but it has few disadvantages which effects on using it easily.
